Warm up your wellness routine with this delicious ginger and turmeric tea: a fragrant blend that delights the senses while supporting the body's natural defenses. Rich in anti-inflammatory properties and vibrant flavours, this tea is the perfect addition to your health ritual.
The ingredients
- 1 L boiling water
- 2 chamomile tea, bags
- 2 lemon & ginger tea, bags
- ½ fresh ginger, root
- ½ cup filtered water
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- ¼ tsp black pepper
The method
- In a large bowl, add the boiling water and the tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes, then remove the bags. Set aside.
- On a cutting board, scrape the skin off the ginger with a spoon, then roughly cut into large pieces.
- In a blender, add the ginger and water. Blend for about 30 seconds.
- In a jar, strain the mixture through a sieve to remove the ginger pulp. If desired, you can use the pulp in ice cube trays to add to your stir-fries later.
- Add the ginger juice (about 1/2 cup) to the tea mixture, along with the maple syrup, turmeric and black pepper. Stir with a spoon.
- Store the drink in a large glass jar or in small individual jars for single servings.
