The ingredients

  • 1 chickpeas, 19 oz / 540 g can, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 lemons, juice
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, or dried
  • 2 tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • cayenne pepper, tiny

The method

  1. In a blender, combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth. You may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  2. Top with a drizzle of oil and parsley. Serve with vegetables, crackers, or on toast.
