Crunchy, colourful and full of freshness, this green bean salad is the perfect side to add a good dose of vegetables to your meals. Simple to make and wonderfully flavourful, it often ends up stealing the show from the main dish!

The ingredients

  • 2 cups green beans, or fresh; frozen
  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • salt and black pepper

The method

  1. Microwave or steam the green beans for 5 to 10 minutes, or until tender.
  2. In a medium bowl, add the cooked, drained beans and the seasonings. Mix well.
  3. Serve as a side dish or starter, cold or warm.
