The ingredients

1 serving

  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup hot water (but not boiling)
  • 1/2 cup mango, fresh or frozen (see tips)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened soy beverage

The method

  1. In a small bowl, add the matcha powder and the water. Whisk using a matcha whisk or a small milk frother until the matcha is completely dissolved and slightly frothy. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mash the mango with a fork until it forms a purée. Add the maple syrup and mix well.
  3. Place the mango purée at the bottom of a glass, then add ice cubes and pour in the soy beverage. Gently pour the prepared matcha on top to create a lovely layered effect. Stir before enjoying!

Tips and variations

If you are using frozen mango, let it thaw beforehand or heat it in the microwave for about 45 to 60 seconds, just enough to soften it so it can be easily mashed into a purée.
